Replacing Missing Sony Logos

If you've ever picked up a Sony CRT or other device from e-waste, eBay, or other sources you've probably noticed how common it is for the Sony logo on the front to be missing / broken. They stick out from the edge of the bezel in a way that makes them the first point of contact when other equipment is rubbing against them.

Finding a replacement can be challenging because Sony changed the logo sizes over the years, and scaled it up or down depending on the size and application of the CRT (consumer, professional, PC, etc). Some people have contacted me to start various initiatives of creating replacement emblem stickers, so I am collecting as much data as I can for their efforts. This list will also help you find "equivalent size" emblems out in the wild from other Sony equipment that will fit the recess spot on your Sony CRT.

Measurement Instructions

It really helps if you have calipers that provide metric measurements. Please include the model number, tube size in inches and emblem measurements in metric.

The most useful measurements are the width of the badge plus the height of the "S" and the "N" in the Sony emblem. The height of the S and N should differ slightly. If your emblem is missing, you can help by supplying the inner measurements of the emblem recess (if your model has a recess) by using the internal jaws of the calipers.
