This model was among Toshiba's first to use "CrystalScan HDSC," a new scaling process for their HD sets. Basically, all signals would be upconverted to 33khz, which would incur lag in some way. 720p is now supported now, at least. You can even switch between scan modes to display 540p or 1080i, which is kind of neat.

This set uses a Japanese-made Microfilter tube by Toshiba. These tubes are special in that the phosphors each have more vibrant color and higher light transmission.

It looks amazing in person, truly an excellent set to own, even with the mild lag.
