Summary

A decent HD CRT by Sanyo from 2003. This was Sanyo's very first HD CRT TV model. I give it credit for having the rare combination of a curved 4:3 screen and HD support.

Notes

I am uncertain that 480p and 1080i is lag-free, but I have a hunch it is. The tube used in this set is an RCA model found in other sets like the Hitachi 32UDX10S and arcade chassis of the day. Heck, Sanyo literally gives a fairly accurate spec in the manual saying it is 330 lines across. Like, they didn't have to be THAT honest about it, but they did. And it shows: the image is rather soft even in the provided pics, and just goes to show that RCA tubes just don't age very well.

This set upconverts 240p/480i to 480p. Not sure if it is a lagless linedoubling process, or a laggy one. SD signals are converted via a Sanyo-made IC, T8F01HF. In the menu, you can set the component input to have the incoming signals processed manually or automatically.

So given that this set uses a fairly unremarkable tube, I'd say this it is good for 640x480p content from a Dreamcast and other systems.
