Picture quality is... oh, what's the word?

AWFUL.

The jungle chip in these 2003 Panasonic models is notoriously bad. Noisy signal, black crush, and haloing that you can't fix in the service menu. It's not sharpening or velocity modulation, its just how the jungle chip processes luma.

I'd only get this set for casual VHS or Laserdisc viewing, as the haloing may be slightly beneficial for the soft picture quality of those video formats. And the video noise is not going to be noticeable either. But for retro gaming, I'd avoid it.
