Summary

17" PC monitor, styled to match HP's Pavilion desktop computers in the early 2000s. The MX70 is a typical 70 kHz monitor, and was designed to be used in 1024x768 at 85 Hz or 1280x1024 at 60 Hz.

This monitor likely has more than one variant, potentially from different manufacturers. This version, P1283-60051, was manufactured by Tatung and uses the C7E chassis.

Sold as a "multimedia monitor", the HP MX70 has a built-in microphone at the top of the tube and attachment points for side-mounted speakers.

The panels at the top and bottom bezel is originally a translucent steel gray. However, they are susceptible to yellowing with age and can turn to a coffee brown color.
